When Sia burst onto the charts, her reluctance to show her face was a bit of an oddity—some even called it a gimmick. But with hit after hit and a multitude of songwriting collaborations, the public has grown to accept Sia’s unconventional approach to living in the public eye.

That visual anonymity has made it easy for Sia to hide in plain sight. Hawk-eyed fans noticed her in a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance on the hit Amazon show Transparent. Sia plays a festival-goer with messy brown hair and glam forehead makeup, without uttering a word of dialogue.
Creator Jill Solloway previously worked with the Australian singer-songwriter on HBO’s Six Feet Under, the finale of which hinged on an emotional recording of “Breathe Me” back in 2005.
