We’re only through with the first weekend of Coachella, and already the festival has delivered some high impact guest appearances, including Kesha on April 16th and Rihanna on April 17th. Not to be outdone, Sia packed her set with big names as well.

Rather than invite another singer onstage, however, Sia chose to incorporate celebrities into what became a one-hour performance piece. Actress Kristen Wiig, actor Paul Dano and comedian Tig Notaro all made appearances during her set. Wiig showed up during “One Million Bullets,” while Paul Dano helped set the tone for “Cheap Thrills” by playing a salesman before showing up onscreen later during “Bird Set Free.” Notaro made an appearance during “Diamonds,” a song Sia wrote for Rihanna (via Pitchfork).
Sia, meanwhile, stood in a white dress against a stark white background, barely moving during her entire performance. Instead, she let the art around her provide the visual energy to match her vocals. Beginning her set with the soaring single “Alive,” Sia sang while Maddie Ziegler danced around her. As a result, Sia’s set on Sunday evening (April 17th) became one of the most talked about from Coachella’s first weekend. Artists like Katy Perry took to social media to praise her.
The most elevated, spiritual experience was had watching @Sia do her thing effortlessly, naturally. @coachella
