Joan Jett and her friends at the Department of Peace—a group that creates “conscious-raising campaigns and content, championing important issues and building a platform for the voice of the people” —want you to get out to the polls this Election Day and help save women’s rights. What better way to encourage you to vote than a PSA featuring some of your favorite female performers lip synching Jett’s hit “Bad Reputation.”
Sia, Sleater-Kinney‘s Carrie Brownstein, Sleigh Bells‘ Alexis Krauss, Eleanor Friedberger, Lesley Gore, Tavi Gevinson, Warpaint‘s Jenny Lee Lindberg and Hole‘s Melissa Auf der Maur all appear in the clip giving their best snarls. Even a few guys like Cass McCombs and New Girl‘s Max Greenfield joined in to help.

“There are candidates running for office this November who have backwards views on women’s rights,” Jett explains in the clip. “If you care about our right to control our own bodies and our own paychecks, then get yourselves out to the polls this November 4th and vote. And bring your friends.”
She is Joan Jett and she approves that message, which flashes some frightening statistics across the screen including that in 2013 there were more laws passed to limit women’s reproductive rights than the entire previous decade.

Mid-term elections take place on Nov. 4.
